Believe those who are seeking the truth. Doubt those who find it. ~Andre Gide

Welcome

This is my personal website. I don't promise to always keep it up to date. I don't promise to always be politically correct. The purpose is to give those that wander through something to think about, to ponder. I hope you enjoy your taste of my little world here in the World Wide Web.

Keep Science Fiction Young

The Center for the Study of Science Fiction have compiled a list of things that you as a parent or teacher can do to help keep Science Fiction Young and motivate our future thinkers. Please visit their site: Science Fiction Youth Program.

"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." - Aristotle

The universe is full of magical things,

patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper.

- Eden Phillpotts

This simple statement encompasses the mission of this site. We live in a magical universe where all things are possible. No final answers exist, only infinite possibilities. This site endeavors to encourage all peoples to see what possibilities the future holds, what fictions are possible and what values and components a people will need to survive for the next 100 years.

Some of my projects:

C-Cubed, the Con Com Con, the convention runners convention.

Reading for the Future

Offers resources and materials to help educators librarians and parents improve reading outcomes for students in grades K-12. This is the unofficial site for RFF.

RustyCon

A great little pacific northwest relaxacon held in January. This little con offers the best of the big con type pros and programming, has family and teen programming items as well as a large amount of adult focused fun evening programming.

Rustycon has been my home convention for 20+ years and in fact I have worked on it every year in some capacity for as long as I have attended it.

Westercon 65: ConClusion

Westercon 65 will be held in Seattle in 2012, I have the honor of chairing this wonderful convention. I am very excited to be able to help construct this bringing together of the times at ConClusion, for more information on what that means please take a look at the website.

What is Westercon? From Wikipedia: Westercon (occasionally WesterCon; long version West Coast Science Fantasy Conference) is a regional science fiction and fantasy convention founded in September 1948 by Walter J. "Doc" Dougherty of the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society. The original full name was West Coast Scienti-Fantasy Conference.

Chicon 7, the 70th World Science Fiction Convention, August 30-September 3, 2012

What is a Worldcon? From Wikipedia: Worldcon, or more formally The World Science Fiction Convention, is a science fiction convention held each year since 1939 (except for the years 1942 through 1945, during World War II). It is the annual convention of the World Science Fiction Society (or WSFS). The members of each Worldcon are the members of WSFS and vote both to select the site of the Worldcon two years later and (since 1955) to select the winners of the Hugo Awards, which are presented at the convention.
